I've been ingrained to the charm of poetry reading since i went to Busboys and Poets, a restaurant where they devoted a little space for countless events they organized. And of course, poetry reading is included. Combining with the passion i have for comfort food and the need to bring people together through it since im a firm believer that whatever we consume, it can also lead us to a hundreds of darling memories and thousands of strangers. So thats how i came up with THE BEIGNETS CLUB!! Hoorayyyyyyyy!
Bear with me, food always bring people to the table. You celebrate your birthday, food. Baby shower,food. Holidays, food. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Songkran Day, FOOD! You see what im saying? What else food can't do? My intention is to creat a little space in our living room, cook food, and share with others. And also to turn this square space to poetry reading stage cause i also happened to be a firm believer that whichever poems each person picked, contained a little part of their lives in it. And i couldnt possibly think of the other ways to get to know people better than this. Since im no expert in poetry and i had no experience about it whatsoever, the only thing i have is a passion for it. And this, im sure, would be a great opportunity for me to learn even more. Im excited!
And here's the rules
1. Dress up
2. Bring your favorite poems in exchange for our beignets and chai tea! Thats all you need for this club!

The name came from this fried donuts that has been travelling a long way from france an became a super star of the New Orleans state! and now they are here in thailand to stay! I love that it gives me the comfort food and poetry kind of feelings all at once. And yall know i'm all about comfort food, so this name just fitted.
Ben was our very first guest ever for this club. I urged that he wore this country red shirt, cause i swear i had everything pictured in my head. As he awkwardly put my hand-sewed bibs on while complaining "Im only doing it for you guys" and we were all laughing so hard. We knew our brother would always be so sweet to us. And at that moment when we served him beignets and tea, the whole room was filled with this christmas spirit and i could hardly breath with happiness. We talked, shared each other's unknown stories and listened to indian musics. Before he left, ben sat down at the corner of the room where we'd set a little candle and read the poem for us. Unbelievable. I absolutely love that moment. The whole afternoon was just something that my heart always longs for and i felt completed by what ive created and i was blessed to have another meaningful moment in life with whom i love and i knew there are a lot more moments waiting to be filled- Candice.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

I've adapted the recipe by using cardamoms and of course, COCONUT MILK cause obviously, it's my all-time spirit ingredient. It's our Coconut Milk and Cardamom Beignets. Katy was in charge of making chai tea and we also put splashes of coconut milk in there, as well. I mean, coconut milk made everything better. C'mon.
