I love beignets!! As pretty as it looks, the taste goes way beyond words. I love it!!. To be frankly, beignet is basically a deep fried dough and just a high pile of powder sugar. Yeah,it's just that. There's nothing much to it. So basic, so boring, but who on earth with the right mind doesn't love to stuff down their throat with sugars and fried doughs? I know for sure I'm not one of them. Candice also love it so much that she created this one club called " Beignet club " where we share our love of dessert with friends and enjoy a good time reading our favorite poems together. Last Wednesday, Candice and I had invited 7 girls who are all friends of ours from all over the world. There were Hawaiian,Americans, and Thais. Like I've said,They were all girls. So,basically it was a girl's night. Yay!!

The idea at first was to invite everyone over with the deals that everybody had to dress up, bring a poem, and bring fruits. Candice and I as the host would be the one doing all the desserts. For me,I made this chocolate cookies which turned out to be a bit weird 'cause I meant to make the texture of the cookies come out as chewy as possible but forgetting to put baking soda in instead of baking powder, the cookies came out to be super fluffy and a bit cakey. Oh,I also made Chai tea to go with the beignets. I swear, my whole house smell like Indian restaurant. Candice,of course, was in charge of making beignet. 'Cause you know, when it comes to making anything including kneading and waiting, I ain't gonna do it. At around 3 o'clock, everybody showed up looking fabulous and beautiful. They were holding a plastic bag full of fruits in their hands. We started off with chocolate cookies, cantaloupe ,watermelon, apples, mangoes and blah blah blah and finished with the beignets. The powder sugar was everywhere ; on the carpet,on the corner of the lips, all over our clothes. It was delish.

We ended the night sitting in a circle with the light from the candles. Each of us read the poem and I could feel all the tensions were let go and all we had left was the peace in the company of each others. It was wonderful.
Katy..Have a really really beautiful day..
