I've been really into doughnuts lately and I really don't know why. Maybe it's becuase of their shapes, colors, or tastes? I do not know. But when katy asked me "what's for breakfast?" when the girls (my beloved grandma and mama peanut) were coming over for brunch in the weekend, i did not hesitate one bit and told Katy it had to be doughnut. It seemed to be the one and only perfect choice for that day.

So I got up early, made the yeast dough, and waited for it to rise while watching Phinese and Ferb. The whole process took me over an hour I'd say. But If I had known how to work with yeast better, then the process would be much faster, I guess. I only have little knowlege when it comes to yeast. Katy and I are more fortunate when it comes to making cakes. The only success I made with yeast was beignets and that was pretty much it. The rest of times i'd worked with yeast were TERRIBLE.
But I am not a quiter so my attempt in working with yeasts must go on. Although, I have to say, this doughnuts came out deliciously but, yes, there's a but. They came out a bit tougher dueing to the amount of whole wheat flour I'd put in. So now I knew not to put too much wheat flour in my doughnuts next time I make it. And as far as these doughnuts haven't reached to the point where I think I can post it on the blog yet, I still think they deserve a little space on the blog since they are so lovely and colorful. Also, the day we had was so much fun that it must be shared!
I hope you all enjoy your week and please, please, please, try doughnuts for breakfast sometimes-Candice.

The Dough though
