Katy has been a little too crazy about this so called " acai bowl" as long as I could remember and really, we had never had one of this little bad boy. Not. Even. Once. Why? Because one, it is hecka a pricy. Two, it is SO NOT a sexy food. However, of all the pictures katy had saved up from pinterest, weheartit, tumblr and blah blah blah, plus every little bits of details in health issue katy kept putting into my ears had, at last, convinced me I have got to try it, once in a lifetime at least.

But instead of having to buy a 500 bath worth of that acai bowl package, we decided to make our own version. Of course it can not be called "Acai Bowl. We knew the rule, people! No faky here. So we went to the store, grabbed a couple bags of frozen blackberries and strawberries, came back home, threw them into the blender and voilà! Came out this beautifully smooth, ooey gooey, lovely dark red liquid in which I prefer to call it "Not Your Acai Bowl" It is that simple. Less than 200 baht spent! And there are more than plenty to eat! You want to eat it now don't you? Come on. Do not wait around before Katy goes knocking on your doors and beg you to try it. Cause I am warning you. She can talk about it ALL DAY LONG- Candice.

What you absolutely need
(makes two big bowls)
2 cups of frozen strawberries
2 cups of frozen blackberries.
1 cup of orange juice or any kind of juice you prefer.
And what you absolutely do not need
-sugar
Use honey instead if you have a massive sweet tooth!
To save up the time of your day, take the ingredients out and pour them into the bowl until the fruits has soften up a bit. Then with the blender, blend the strawberries with oragne juice to create a runny base, making it easier to blend the frozen fruits. Once the mixture is smooth. Mix in the blackberries. I have to warn you, it is kinda annoying having to eat those little blackberries seeds. So make sure you blend them until you get this lovely smooth mixture.
Serve with whatever fruits you have on hands. With a little bit of some types of nuts would be lovely. I topped mine with sweet, juicy chunks of mango and cashews. It was to die for.
